Nathan Hartman is the Dauch Family Professor of Advanced Manufacturing and Department Head of the Department of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University, and Director of the Purdue University Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Center. Dr. Hartman is also Co-Executive Director of the Indiana Next-generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC). In 2011, Professor Hartman was designated a University Faculty Scholar, and in early 2013, he was on the team providing content for the research and technology framework of what eventually became the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (part of the Manufacturing USA program).
Professor Hartman’s research areas focus on the process and methodology for creating model-based definitions; examining the use of the model-based definition in the product lifecycle; developing the model-based enterprise; geometry automation; and data interoperability and re-use. He has been awarded over $9,000,000 in research funding to support his work, primarily from industrial and manufacturing corporations. Professor Hartman’s industry research partners include Rolls Royce, Cummins, Boeing, GM, Rockwell Collins, Textron, Gulfstream, Procter & Gamble, GM, Honda, and others. He has also done funded research work through NSF, DMDII, and NIST programs.
Professor Hartman currently teaches courses in 3D modeling, virtual collaboration, 3D data interoperability, and graphics standards and data exchange. Professor Hartman also leads a team in the development and delivery of online PLM and MBD professional education certificate programs for Purdue’s various industry partners. He also works closely with the Ivy Tech Community College system around design technologies and digital manufacturing curricula to support Indiana’s education and workforce development needs. Professor Hartman holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Purdue University and a Doctorate from North Carolina State University. Dr. Hartman spent over seven years working in industry for Fairfield Manufacturing Company, Caterpillar, and Rand Worldwide. During his time at Fairfield Manufacturing, he worked in various machining groups and in tool design. Upon joining Caterpillar, Professor Hartman worked in the 3600 Engine Series engineering group, where he designed components for the engine and served in the transition group that implemented 3D solid modeling technology and trained other users. At Rand Worldwide, he was responsible for the development and delivery of training curriculum for the use of 3D CAD and product data management tools, as well as an assessment and training program for Caterpillar, John Deere, and Motorola that included over 3000 people.

Oleg Shilovitsky is CEO and co-founder of OpenBOM™, entrepreneur, and blogger at Beyond PLM. Shilovitsky has been building software products for data management, engineering, and manufacturing for the past 20 years. He has developed PDM / PLM software and worked for companies such as SmarTeam (acquired by Dassault), Dassault Systèmes, Inforbix (acquired by Autodesk), and Autodesk. Shilovitsky is the author of the popular blog (Beyond PLM - www.beyondplm.com) where he shares his thoughts and discusses various engineering and manufacturing software topics.
Michael Benning, Director Configuration and Change Management, IMMI
Michael has over 25 years of experience in various project and operations management roles in the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors. He has recently been tasked with establishing a CCM competence based on CM2 principles. The Team’s scope includes rationalizing the existing product portfolio, integrating CM2 principles with legacy engineering and operations processes, and implementing PLM and configurator platforms.

John Koehr, PMP, CAE, Managing Director of Technology Advancement and Business Development, ASME
John’s professional career includes over 32 years of experience coordinating multi-discipline engineering activities supporting design, analysis, licensing, fabrication, construction and operation of mechanical systems. Since September 2002 he has served in various roles as a not-for-profit staff executive at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), where he currently serves as the Managing Director, Technology Advancement and Business Development (TABD). In this role he coordinates enterprise-wide strategy implementation which includes a focus on five technology areas – manufacturing, clean energy, bioengineering, robotics, and pressure technology. John’s responsibilities include technology and market leadership, portfolio management, constituent organization relationships and engagement, content integration, product development, and new business development. He also serves as President of the ASME Standards Technology, LLC (ASME ST-LLC), which provides new standards-related products and services which advance the application of emerging and newly commercialized technology and maintain the technical relevance of ASME codes and standards.
Prior duties at ASME have included operational and administrative oversight of ASME's Washington Center which coordinates ASME’s Government Relations, Engineering Education, Industry Advisory Board, and Public Affairs & Outreach programs. He formerly served on ASME’s Sector Management Committee (SMC) as primary staff representative for the Technical Events and Content (TEC) sector. He previously served on the ASME Standards and Certification staff as the Managing Director, Technology and Personnel Certification. He also served as President of the ASME Personnel Certification LLC (ASME PC-LLC).
Prior to joining ASME John managed major projects in the submarine telecommunications cable industry, worked as a project engineer and manager in the commercial nuclear power industry, and served as a U.S. Navy submarine officer.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. Henrik Hulgaard is the co-founder and CTO of Configit, a global software company specializing in helping makers of complex products become faster, smarter and more profitable. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington and is an Associate Professor of Computer Science. An author of more than 25 international articles and more than 30 years of experience in IT development and research, Henrik is responsible for the overall technology vision for Configit. CM2 became Catie's passion after being introduced to it in 2013. This passion has driven her to work on applying the requirements-driven principles of CM2 to business processes that enable compliance to regulatory standards.
Catie has worked in the medical device industry for over 20 years in a variety of configuration management roles. She has worked at Beckman Coulter, Boston Scientific, American Medical Systems, and St. Jude Medical. She is currently creating the business process infrastructure and harmonizing global processes at Mölnlycke Health Care, a Swedish medical device company.

Rob McAveney has over 15 years of experience in the design, development and implementation of mission-critical business solutions. Kristen Lucero is a Senior Analyst who partners with executives to simplify and improve their Product Data and Document management processes and systems across all business functions. Over the past 15 years she has held various positions in the Medical Device industry where she has been effective in improving processes and systems. Her positions in Manufacturing Management, Quality Supervisory Roles, Design R&D Engineering, and Quality Engineering has allowed her to work effectively across all business functions to improve and simplify Product Data and Document Management systems and processes. Kristen is passionate about process improvements so as to get lifesaving products to market efficiently and cost effectively. In her most recent role, Kristen has been tasked with standardizing requirements for the organization’s enterprise change management system while integrating CM2 principles into the corporate strategy. Peter Bilello has more than 26 years of experience in the development of business-enabling IT solutions for research, engineering, and manufacturing organizations worldwide. Gary D’Souza is responsible for the global manufacturing engineering applications at AGCO. Now in his 10th year at AGCO he has been the technical lead for Manufacturing PLM for 6 years overseeing the successful development, integration and launch of the system at multiple sites in support of AGCO’s worldwide corporate initiative Design Anywhere Build Anywhere. He is currently on foreign assignment to Brazil to coordinate the launch of Teamcenter at the factories in South America. Gary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State University and is CM2-P certified.
Martijn Dullaart, Configuration Management Expert/Architect, ASML
Martijn is a CM Architect at ASML. He has a passion for CM and he creates awareness with businesses about the need for CM and has designed and deployed business processes based on CM2 best practices and implemented PLM to support these processes. Next to his work at ASML, Martijn is chair of the IPE/CM2 Global Congress and chair of the Industry 4.0 committee of the IPE/CM2 Global Congress. Martijn is always looking for improvements and discovers trends and takes initiative in introducing new capabilities and innovations like Industry 4.0 in order to help organizations increase quality, reduce time to market and reduce cost. He has over 13 years of experience in both the CM and PLM domain. Martijn has a Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management Science and holds a CM2-P & CM2-S certification.
Bill Woodaman, SR Windchill Change Management Architect, Cimarron Inc.
Bill is from central New Hampshire and was most recently the Corporate CM Manager for Albany Engineered Composites, an aerospace manufacturer. He managed configuration departments at all facilities (France, Mexico, US) from development through production. Prior to aerospace, Bill ran configuration management for a medical device manufacturer. Bill is also a member of the IPE/CM2 Global Congress.
Max Gravel, Group Head, Configuration and Change Management Manager, Gulfstream
Max has over 10 years' experience in Configuration and Change Management (CCM) at Gulfstream Aerospace. His team is currently leading an effort to integrate CCM processes and enabling systems across the enterprise using the CM2 principles as backbone.
Max has a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering, holds CM2-P certification and is a member of the CM2/IPE Global Congress.
Martin Haket, Configuration Management Business Architect, ASML
Graduated in 1999 in Information Technology, Martin immediately was confronted with configuration management on his first job in the defense industry. In succeeding positions, CM became more dominant, eventually leading to his current position as Configuration Management Business Architect at ASML. In this position he is driving the introduction of a CM2 based change process and teaching the ASML in-house CM2-12 courses. Martin’s CM2 training started in 2006 leading to CM2-P certification in 2015. In 2017, Martin became IpX's first and only current recipient of the CM2-Doctorate.
Ray Wozny, President, Institute for Process Excellence
Ray has over 25 years of experience in high technology firms with 19 years in management. He has held various management positions and has implemented three PDM/PLM Solutions. Ray has extensive experience in configuration management, technical publications and design support. He received a CM2 certification in 1989 and joined IpX in 2003. He was on the ACDM's founding Board of Governors. Ray assumed the role of President of IpX on January 1, 2017.
Joseph Anderson, Vice President of Services, Institute for Process Excellence
Joseph Anderson is the Vice President of Services at the Institute for Process Excellence (IpX), which provides training, standards and services to companies in enterprise operational excellence. He holds executive-level authority for the IpX global services organization, which is responsible for leading IpX clients through business and digital transformation. Joseph has more than 20 years of experience within the automotive, aerospace, marine and defense industries in various executive positions.
